I hate to admit this, but little things bother me about my gear.

My "Intel Centurion" sticker was gone and I liked how they looked on the silver case. I found this seller in China that will sell you any 3 stickers for $1 (USD) and $3 (USD) shipping.

So, while I was at it I decided to self-certify my CF-29N as compliant with Win7! I am fully convinced that this sticker may have had a reassured my CF-29 and this is why I have had good luck with drivers to date!

The stickers seem to be of high quality vinyl and look great.

Anyway, I have no fiduciary connection with this seller, just passing along a tip!

I have had no real problems with it. I used the XP hotkey driver, as that was the only device would not configure during the install or updates.

Some folks have also used the CF-19 Vista Hot key driver. Keep in mind that mine does not have a touch screen, and that always seems sticky for many applications. However, I think it has been done now on a CF-29 Mark 4 or 5.

The video driver was an issue with the CF-29 Mark 1-3, with its Intel 855 chipset, but that problem has been worked around thanks to so me clever work from two of our members.

Well it looks like CF-29, in most common variations, has been "self-certified" by the forum as Win7 compliant! :D

    Bill, Nice stickers, but....
Could you please post pictures that fit on a Toughbook screen? Even with my super side scrolling wheel mouse its hard for me to read comments when all the text isn't on the screen at once. Short term memory loss I suppose. :(

If you make your pics a bit smaller and upload them to the forum, they'll be nice and neat with a little thumbnail at the bottom. Then you won't strain Capn's scrolling muscles.

Guys, I had no idea, I have two 24" wide screens side by side here and just never considered that the board was not automatically resizing the pics.

I will post nothing bigger then, say, 800x600 in the future? :err:

The forum has a pretty robust image hosting system built in; your max filesize here is 585KB and 2000x2000 max dimensions with pretty much every popular filetype supported.

You don't NEED to Filebucket everything, and then if your server goes down or you cancel that account, the pix are still here for the noobs to see in 2067...

Or they could be on the plasma drive...

However, I am not sure that I will still want my words and wisdom haunting me in 2067! :nah:

    This is a good idea.
I like having the full image in the text of the post, but I have been thinking the images I've posted may dissappear. I'm not sure of the bandwidth limitations of where I keep 'em.

What driver you use for the emissive? Mine keeps disabling it and calling it a CF 50 unsupported keyboard. THats my only issue driver wise.

I Know Right? IT was a deal for 2 sticker combo. I will wait till I can get Windoze Se7en working right again. Migh have to redo it.

Disabling what? The keyboard or the backlight?

Was a CF-50 available with an emissive keyboard?

I'm not sure what your problem is. The keyboard doesn't require a specific driver, other than what Windows installs. It doesn't matter if it's emissive or not. What is the part # on your keyboard?

The ones JB007 was selling. turn it on the hot keys work but after signing in to a user I get a "windows disabled the drivers due to incompatibility". THe CF 50 keyboad message was in the system issues flag icon on bottom right near the time/date. I'll throw the W7 hdd in and screen shot it in a hr or so once I get to work.

OK, now I understand. You seem to have a problem with the hotkey driver. Have you tried installing the hotkey driver for Vista from the CF-29 MK4-5 Vista upgrade files, viup1_29_45_h070034.exe? Then the hkeyapp and hkeyset in compatibility mode for Vista, not SP1 or SP2. I know you have a MK3 but these are the files I used on my MK5 with Win 7 Pro. If there was an option, I installed all drivers and programs in compatibility mode for Vista. Except the sound driver, as there was no Vista driver. I used the XP driver, in compatibility mode. Everything works as it should.

You got that message trying to run viup1_29_45_h070034.exe? Use WinRAR or something similar to extract the driver package. Then try updating the hotkey driver.

WinRAR!!!! Efff Yeah! Now I just need to find the right ready boost usb stick and W7 is livable on a MK3. Video playback is a little satanic but I can live with it.

What a classic photo about folks working together on this forum.

Your hard work--Rob's keyboard--Azrial's label. And who is to tell what inner workings are unseen.

    Good show.
