Any news on retrofitting the 4G GOBI into a GOBI 2000 equipped machine?

I'm tempted to try tethering my 4G ATT phone to see what the improvement is. It's a Blackberry though, so it might even slow things down.

I'm not sure how much more 4G would bring me. First of all there are no providers for that :), secondly, I can get quite nice speeds with the current Ericsson F5521gw adapter.

That sounds about right, I am grandfathered in on the unlimited plan. BUT the unlimited plan is only 5gb in the fine print.

I have 5GB total... and that's $50/month... If I go over, another 10GB is another $10 and so on... I get what I pay for fairly :D

Rob and I have been discussing this exact topic. I am wanting to install one in my 30 MK3. I called my buddy at Buytough and inquired when he is going to start selling them on his site. From what I have gathered from him it is only with Verizon as of this time. For me that's awesome as I already have 4G with them. He has not seen or heard of Panasonic or anyone for that matter using one in a 30. He told me if I want to buy one I can come up there and he will see if he can get it to work. I'll keep you posted if I find out anything on my end.

    I pay <$5/month for 5GB, on 3G/HSDPA connection (5-6Mbps DL, 1.3 UL).
I don't know what's the cost after the limit, because I never got to use it that much. It's there with my Gobi2k, in case I need it as a backup internet connection.
If only the network coverage would be half decent out of the major cities.

Competing operator's mobile data plans are a few times more expensive, with better coverage, but not (usually) needed in my case.
