We are trying to get the GPSApp working.
When we launch the app' it comes back in error.
Yet, when I connect up to COM3 via hyperterm, the GPS data seems to be streaming in just fine.
I read some place that an entry may be missing in the registry.
Any ideas on what this could be and how can I solve this problem?
thanks in advance for any help...

What OS?
What is the full model number?? (CF-30XXXXXXX)
What Software program are you using? -
OS - XP
model: CF30KCQRDNM
Sierra Wireless w/internal GPS that comes with the CF30.
is there anything specific I should look for (eg in the registry, loaded processes etc...)
thks -
CF30KCQRDNM - this model isn't comming up in the config website... any ideas anyone??? I'm lost now
lol...
For sure be sure to check in the BIOS to make sure that it is in fact enabled. -
is this an OEM gps and wwan card or aftermarket?
-
able to get GPGSA data feed from COM3. Spits out data every second or so and seems to be consistent (not moving the unit)
The GPS is the one that came with the CF-30. -

What software are you using to view the GPS position? Not hyper terminal, do you have an application which shows the computer's position?
CAP -
Sierra GPS sw watcher R7.11.0.0 build 1904
In regards to the BIOS, it is set at GPS Auto.
Should I change this to Enabled then the default IRQ?
Is there another GPS sw package available that may be a bit better than the Sierra wireless Inc ?
I'm going to try the baud rate settings... -
doesn't seem to be any baud rate setting with this sw package...
I tried changing the BIOS settings for the GPS...
no luck.
anything else I should try? -
Download VisualGPS (free), install it and see if you can find the GPS. The Sierra watcher is for cellular communications, does it have a GPS window?

I'd leave the bios setting to auto, until you see if there is no other cause of the problem.
Have you tried using the GPS in a mapping program, or just the Sierra utility ?
You can download a free trial of Microsoft Streets and Trips 2010, and see if the GPS works in it. It's possible that the sierra utility is not designed to work with the TB's internal GPS...
