Has anyone had experience with the Getac V200 or with Getac in general? I've scoured the internet for Getac reviews and have come up with almost nothing. I'm not sure if Getac's build quality and rugged testing are up to Panasonic's standards. Just hoping someone is willing to share their experience.

GETAC is GE TACtical Electronics; they're a defense contractor going back to the 60s. As you may guess, if there is one thing they are good at it's designing to Military Specifications; they did after all help to write the book.

They are not the same animal as a ToughBook; their technical support is even less available to the general public, and they do not offer assistance outside the vendor-client food chain willingly.

Here is a current price/option list from one retailer; I've personally had my hands on a few M230s in my service related work and I believe they are quite comparable to current Toughbooks in initial build quality.

i have got the Getac V100 which isnt a bad laptop... at the time of buying it, it was alot cheaper than the Toughbook 18/19. But in the long run parts and battery etc etc are alot more cost wise than the toughbook....

i wouldnt buy one again i would stick with a toughbook....

I just got a MK1 toughbook CF-29 which is alot older than my V100 and i love it alot more...

I will be selling my V100 soon so i can buy another toughbook....
