    Hi,
I have a Toughbook CF19 MK2 and a Gobi card from a Lenovo. I fitted this in the notebook and it is recognized. I googled the hardware ID and downloaded a driver, which moved the Gobi from Unknown Devices to Serial Ports.

My question is, how can I make it recognized as a modem so I can connect tothe 3g network. I'm guessing that that will let me connect to the 3g network, am I wrong?

Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook Forum

To make this work in a Toughbook you will need a lot of luck. Only a couple of members I know of that got a GOBI from another laptop to work in a Toughbook. You really need one from a Toughbook and don't go buy one from China, they will tell you it is from a Toughbook but most of the time it's from a Lenovo .

You need to get a Qualcomm Gobi 2000 HS-USB 250F modem to work in the TB. They have newer ones out though that are 4G though.
