I finally ordered my first Toughbook and it arrived today. I'm in law enforcement and needed something that would hold up to severe duty. Checking the BIOS, it has 490hrs and doesn't have a single scratch anywhere! It came with OS and restore discs and the manuals. I've been reading the forum and have gained some knowledge, but I'm sure that I'll have questions soon enough.

Anything I need to look for?

read all the FAQ's, the stickies, the whole kit and kaboodle, all the sages will welcome you and the reading will enlighten you and entertain you, just getting started myself, be careful, you will wind up owning quite a few of these trusty little laptops before you know it, they call it an addiction, but I think it's good clean fun! all the stuff is located at the top of the forum , read read read, there are some pretty innovative guys here, and lots of humor and deep philosophical discussions from time to time, how's this for a run on sentence. welcome to the forum, ......Driller

If he's like the rest of "us" his "second job" should be able to support a " Toughbook Habit." ;)

As with all things; that is relative. How bad is your habit? How well does Job2 pay?

All things are relative. All relatives are things. My relatives take all my things.

    Thanks for the welcome Brother!

I work 2 jobs PLUS off duty.. Maybe one day, I'll be able to pay some bills off and grab a few more Toughbooks...

One question, is it normal for full screen youtube videos to be choppy?? (I have a 20MB internet and the standard def. videos look fine.)

In these parts, $50 to $125 per hour (depending of the `Job2' ;)).
