Ok here's how we're gonna do this one. It was just too hard for me to keep track of who wanted what when the requests were embedded in another thread. So anyway..
What: a 600mw Engenius miniPCI Wifi card
Where: Keenan Systems website ( www.keenansystems.com)
Unless somebody knows of a cheaper source!
Why: (quote from the website)
"International shipping is not offered at this time including Canada.
APO / FPO shipping is not offered."
Cost: $47.99 + your share of the store's shipping charge + whatever it costs for me to ship it to you. I'm not making anything off of this, just want to help people out that might not otherwise be able to buy these.
Payment method: I prefer google checkout because it is safe, efficient, and FREE! No other payment (that I know of) can achieve all three of those objectives. If you would prefer not to use a credit card I will accept a check or money order denominated in US dollars. (my bank charges me to convert currency) Or, as a LAST RESORT, paypal or bidpay if you can offer me a compelling reason why you cannot use the payment methods listed above, and there will be an additional charge for these fee-based payment methods.
Specs: http://www.keenansystems.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=18&products_id=214
What you need to do if you want one (or more):
I just need your screen name and a quantity for now. I'm thinking I'll place the order on Wednesday so I'll need to know by then if you're in. When they arrive, I'll send you an email invoice and when paid i'll drop 'em in the mail!
-
Ok! its a good idea that you made a separate thread so that no one will not to be missed: ONE for me! thanks
BTW.. did you received my payment? -
Add one for me. I did post in the other thread before this, so just to make it clear, I only need one total. Thanks

Gravitar, the check-out system keeps throwing out my postal code but creates an account anyway. When I try to log into it, I'm required to sign up all over again. Same BS over the past few hours with Firefox and IE6, on 3 different PCs. Sorry but I don't know what's up with Google.
I'll have to go with Paypal and cover my total, plus the additional 4% fee (IIRC but correct me if I'm wrong).
List me up for 2 cards plus 4 cables (I'll go dig for the catalog number).
Thanks! -

For those who care... In talking with the USPS... If the package weighs less than 13 ounces it will pass straight through without delay and no Customs Forms are neccessary. It should fly through.
-
well.. i think the form does say under some weight limit you don't have to use it, but my post office has been making us put them on everything. they say unless it's "documents only" you have to have one
-
Ship it in a number 000 padded envelope and put it in your mailbox. They will pick it up and deliver it with no problem.
-
really? i thought all export mail had to be dropped off
-
Gravitar,
You can put me down for one. Shipping will be to 04578 -
Great Cards!
-
What about the Antennas and extension cable for this card?
-
Darn it, I got sidetracked this week and din't put in the order.. now their website says they are closed until 12/27
I will place my order the morning of the 27th!
-
I bought some from this place too.
http://www.microcom.us/nmp8602pluss.html
It shows "Ships in 2-3 weeks" but I got mine pretty quickly. Still... You might want to call to verify. -
I am looking to increase ram to 512MB in my cf-28. Could you tell me what to buy, Any suggestions? (company, Model).

just to let you guys know, i haven't forgotten about this, but now it looks like the keenan systems website is down
-
Is this what I need to upgrade my CF-48V?
Presently I have a PCMCIA NetGear WG511T. I'd like to change to an internal card. Would this be a good one?
This is what my slot looks like:
-
Your on the wrong thread, BTW.. if that is the mini pci slot, yup!you can install wi-fi on it and do the antena wiring whichever you want as long as it is not block by magnesium alloy case, look for a pure plastic area on the case preferably on the lid not on the buttom of the unit that you can place the antena.
-
Sorry about being on the wrong thread.
My question: is the 600mw WiFi Keenan card a good choice for my CF-48? -
'Toughbook', some of the sites I've been to for the u.Fl>RP.SMA cables, offer them between 8"~12", or uses right-angled connectors, which would be too high. Whereabout can I find those 20"~24", or are these custom-made? If you have extra stock, I could do with 4 of these. Thanks! -
Cards finally ordered! I got six. Breakdown is as follows:
ohlip
doobi
toughnut x2
tb4me
me -
Many thanks, Gravitar. Let me know my dues and I'll zap 'em right over.
-
I just picked up 4 more of thee myself. They are actually a abetter price than where I ordered from the first time.
-
ditto what ToughNut said Grav, just lemme know.
-
Hyperlink Technologies Now has their "Custom Cable and Pigtail" Selector online. Might come in handy for someone needing cables, or coaxial assemblies.
-
Hi tb4me,
Thanks for the link. I went through the selection process...
U.FL - Hirose/iPax/Mini-PCI Compatible to RP-SMA Jack Bulkhead
Cable Type: 1.13 Mini-Coax, Length: 2 foot (0.6m) feet
Price: $39.99 per cable
Part Number: CA-UFLCUSTOM
That is serious money for pigtails!! I could do with 4 cables but not at those prices I'm afraid. -
The cards are in! The cards are in! I will PM those of you that ordered them.
-
-
hi guys new to this forum just got my cf 28 now ready to hack can you help me and can i get a 600mw WiFi card all so thank you
-
Limitedd... I think Gravitar already ordered the group buy. Can you order from the link? I believe they take Paypal.
-
Hopefully he is in the US, they don't take international orders
-
TB, can you tell me which driver to use with this card. And do you have a recommendation for the antenna. I ask because with this card, and with 2 different antennas, I am still not getting a wireless signal yet with my Toshiba Satellite, I can see 2. I'm really thinking I have 2 crap antennas. Where did you buy yours from?
-
Hi Toughbook yes i am in the us i want to put a GPS to and all to toys were can i it them from and is there any how to to help me do this thank you what all do i need
-
Well this is the link to purchase the engenius wifi card from keenan systems:
http://www.keenansystems.com/store/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=18&products_id=214
but it looks like they are out of stock again. I must have cleaned them out -
so sell me your then
-
I suppose I could if you're really anxious to get started.. it might take me a while to get anywhere with mine (since I'm determined to do it the hard way)
-
I bought one of these cards, and worked great. Keenan doesn't host the drivers for some reason, but you can get them here: Netgate
and your in LUCK, they are cheaper than Keenan now @ $50.00 on sale -- now only if it was the Ubiquiti card...
Go about halfway down the page for the XP drivers, or Linux if you like, or how about one of the BSD flavors?
