I just got my hands on a CF-73 Toughbook and it didn't come with a HDD caddy. I've searched here and on the internet in general to find some sort of compatibility between my model of toughbook and other models, to no avail. The closest thing I've found is a thread here stating that the CF-73 is an upgrade over the CF-72; however, I can't find any information regarding parts compatibility. There's a couple of HDD caddies on eBay right now that are rather expensive and I really don't want to buy one for a CF-72 or -74 only to find out that it won't work for my particular model.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have no idea what interchanges, but there is a cf-73 caddy on ebay right now for 89. It seems like some ebay sellers with access to anything lurk here on the TB forums and post actions on-demand. Seems like that happened when I was looking for a caddy too...

Cf-73 caddy works on cf-73 only
No other toughbook caddy will work

They are not only lurking here, they copied what we accomplished here and claim that it was their idea or his/her idea.
808...y, don't mind the comment on the bst section he is an outsider not from the toughbook forum thats why he has no idea what he is talking about. BTW, welcome to the forum and hoping that you will not be affected by the desease going on here. LOL

808, I was in similar shoes. Fleabay CF-73 arrived with a caddy but without the HDD connector and it was Alex who pointed me to the same seller. It is no doubt pricey but at least it's new. My son uses the 73 now and sorry, I don't have other 7x series for comparison. The 73 does uses the same AC adapter as CF-50 & 29 (but not CF-M34, 28 or 48... in case you own any of these).
Teo, yeah.... it sucks when lurkers skim off the creme and doesn't contribute a single byte.

Well thanks for the advice, guys, new -73 caddy it is!
The good news is that the poor toughbook came with 2GB of RAM and it's been running memtest86 since yesterday morning with no errors yet.
My next question...does anybody know where I can get a replacement top and bottom screen bezel? The one I have has pieces cracked out of it.
Thanks for everything, guys! -
Best bet is on ebay. try laptopaid or laptopangel. I've seen then always have parts for a toughbook, fully rugged or semi-rugged.
