    HELP!!! PLEASE!!!!

    Ok, so I recently bought a panasonic toughbook cf-29 off ebay for $60. It had no Operating System, or hard drive. so I bought a hard drive and operating system, and put the hard drive in. However, The laptop says There is no hard drive installed. But there Is!!!!!!!!! How Can I fix it?????

    did you use an IDE drive or a IDE to SATA adapter?

    Yeah...

    I'm gonna guess you bought a SATA drive. SATA has been the standard for a good while now, so unless you specifically sought out an IDE HD, you almost definitely bought the wrong kind. Here's the kind you need: http://www.bobjohnson.com/60gb-ide-hard-drive/

    Also, while we're at it, what operating system did you buy? Let's make sure it's compatible with your Toughbook.

    Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook forum
    Sounds to me the harddrive is no good. When you start up the 29 press F2 until you get into the bios screen and see if the harddrive shows up . If not then it's dead or you have deeper problems than that.

    In this case also if you know how to take and post some pictures of the caddy connections and the type of hard drive plug in we will be able to help you better.
