HERE WE ARE! Clay helped me out with this too so I give him 50% of the credit! THANKS CLAY! about $41 in materials + 4 hours of time. Also, I currently have a 5" nipple attached to the flange and I'm going to be removing that and putting a 7" nipple on it because it's rubbing against my center "kitchen table" in my truck which is no good. Also in the pics it shows the CF-29 behind the seat - well it bounces around and makes noise back there so I ended up putting it under the seat and it's just perfect that way. I just use a flash drive to put music on it so I don't have to take it outta my truck.

    Enjoy!

    Thanks!

Yes it is: ME :D... lol naw, it wouldn't fit in the spot he wanted it in his little Altima so I just took it and paid my company for it :)

Already done. When you hit the power button it turns the laptop on and puts it into standby too :D

Nice rig! Still, it's not fair. If I put "n*pple" and "r*bbing" in the same post, pics or no, I'd get a stern PM from catman.

Sooo... I see that those monitors are cheap as hell...
What would I need to use one of them for a CF-30?

They currently sell for 1/20th of the original price used, so they are very good value for the money used ( I just bought 5 more 02's )

They make a more compact installation for navigation use ,if you don't use a keyboard, very similar to the instalation used on the cf-18 and cf-19's where I mount them as tablets flush on the dash and we only use the touchscreen for input
They have equivalent screen brighness to that of the cf-30/31 touchscreens and actually have good sounding speakers
At the used price you can use them as intended as PDRC
Permanent Display Removable Computer , and leave them in place without worrying of having them stolen

    Power supply, old style plug
    Serial cable of suitable length
    Video cable of suitable length
    UPDD driver from Panasonic
    Some way of mounting it
Not all that complicated, easier to connect than most printers.
NB: If you haven't seen one, they are decidedly not "Tough".

On the 01 that Rob used
The larger 12" screen uses the new yellow tip plug

    800 x 600 resolution on the 01 ,with 1000 nits brightness

    1024 x 768 resolution on the 02 ,with 1200 nits brightness

I love this screen... It's just great... I got one from CAP with ZERO scratches - MINTY ONE

You can get em on eBay for $45 shipped.

I personally don't use the speakers on them as I route all the sound directly into my aux in jack on my stereo as the whole point of this is to have all my music in my truck. I also prefer the 01 model because I NEED 800x600 for my front end software I'm using (Mobile Impact).

    Thanks

I have thought of mounting my 19 to the ceiling (like a car DVD player) and then when opening the lid would just have to rotate the screen upside down using the screen rotation tool to make it right-side up for me. Just haven't quite figured out how to mount it up there sturdy enough. I thought it sounded like a good idea though. What you think?

The Gamber-Johnson mount that I use will hold the Toughbook very securely
The weight of the mount and cf-18/19 is quite a bit , securing it to the ceiling would be an issue

Look under the headliner for body stiffening ribs. Find one of those and you "probably" have a secure anchor. Otherwise, the cat speaks true.

I have a CF-M34 under my seat the my car feeding a screen that I moded in to my dash to try and make it look oem. Its for my satnav and my music.

I had a pc at the start but the power supply went twice and then I bough a dock for my CF-M34 of someone on here and now the CF-M34 lives in my car all the time apart for when I take into the house to update my music or my maps for the satnav.

Here is a link to my site of the car pc. I still have to add pic of the CF-M34 mounted under my seat.

Yep TopCop1988 Has got it. I have to say one thing I like about the CF-M34 that I am using it has hard drive heater it has helped to stop sub zero temps we had from killing the hard disk.

In December 2009 I had the pc in and the sub zero temps we had killed the hard drive and I would say wen the hard disk went it took out the power supply for the pc as well that when I desided to use one of my CF-M34s

This is the exact reason I've hotwired a CF-30 to make an external power switch for my buddies Nissan Altima... He's going to be using a 7" lilliput screen but a CF-30 base for the sole purpose of the HDD heater...
