    ij so ive accuired a few hp port replicators and noticed something the connection is the same as the connection on the bottom of the 18 well i completly disasembled it to make it fit but cant seem to get it to read any thoughts?

    Don't.....
    Even if the connector "looks" the same. The pinouts surely will not be.
    Attempting to connecting "could" have the potential to kill your 18.
