may be a dumb response on my behalf but does cpu-id when installed give this info? TopCop? vaguely remember you saying something about this program. Sure fire way to know is to disassemble the hard drive caddy and do an eyeball inspection, have seen toshiba, hitachi models before as HD's if looking to upgrade go with samsung160idehdd 2.5 or the veritable WD3200BEVE. they work and work well...Driller

    Model Number: CF-29HWLGZBM
    Status: DISCONTINUED
    MSRP: $4,823
    Description: Intel® Pentium M 738 1.4GHz LV (Centrino) CPU, 13.3" XGA Touch Screen, 256MB RAM, 60GB HDD, Intel® PRO/Wireless 802.11a+b+g WLAN, Microsoft® Windows XP Professional w/Service Pack 2, Rubber Backlit Keyboard

Here's where you look up the capabilities of CPU-ID
An even easier way is to utilize Windows itself. ;)

Go to [Start] ► Settings ► Control Panel ► System ► Hardware ► Device Manager ► Disk Drives, click the [+] to expand the list, then scroll down to the hard drive listed and "Double-Click" on the drive's name and a Hard Drive Properties window will open and "Reveal All." :D

    +1 on the Samsung Spinpoint M5 HM160HC 160GB 5400 RPM drive.

Go to My Computer > C: > Properties then check the Hardware tab. It shows the part number of the hard drive installed. You can Google the part number to get the full specs.

Both proven solutions, although lately a bad batch of Samsumg HM160HC drives got into the supply chain, so buy from a reputable seller and be ready to return it if necessary.

    Look in the Device Manager.
