    I think that implies that it's a hack. So what does clipping the pin mean?
    And do you have any instructions on opening the laptop?

    Even supposing it were 3.5" IDE , and you have a big cable too. You wouldn't want to, but how would you "clip a pin"? and how would you "bridge 2 pins" while connecting it to something?

    I think it's really designed awkwardly and hard to find the hard drive.
