The drive on my cf48 has started whining and acting up. Is there a cheap (under $50) way of replacing it--the drive, that is? I use it where I'm employed to run some older programs, and keep my two 29s at home where I can keep an eye on them ;). Thanks.

Any ide (pata) drive should work. I have tried up to an 80GB in one. It is the same format drive that the CF-29 uses. You should be able to Ghost your existing drive and put the programs and data on the new drive you purchase.

In my experience, don't waste your time with any used laptop drive. At least not any from Ebay.
