I've been poking around on my computer which is a cf-29stjg8dmbkb and I have one unknown device here is all the details I could find
ACPI\MAT0023\2&DABA3FF&0
Any help would be great thanks

If you Google ACPI it shows as Advanced Configuration and Power Interface... It is probably your hotkey driver or it could be your battery recalibration driver or software... I take it you loaded regular XP and not with the Recovery Disks?
You really should read some of the CF-29FAQs to see where you can and should log in to get all the proper drivers for your model. -
I should read the model number correctly cf-28
-
IS it a CF-28 or a CF-29 and what is the complete model number? CF-XXXXXXX?
We also have a CF-28FAQ section... -
So I was gonna try to decipher what the heck a "cf-29stjg8dmbkb" model is (which I've seen this before... a lot of old British petroleum Toughbooks have these extended models, but usually they just add extra letters for there little internal system)... you can actually peal it off to reveal the real model.
Anyways I was trying to go to config.panasonic.com and I'm getting a page cannot be displayed -
If you leave the last #'s off in the config utility...
P3-1GHz, 13.3"Transmissive-TOUCH, 30GB, 256, 56K/LAN, FDD, CISCO WIRELESS LAN, WHIP ANTENNA, Win 2000
That is if its a cf-28

Yup... If it has BKB it supposedly means that an illuminated keyboard was added later... At least in my experience that is what I have found.
To the point... I think he is missing the hotkey driver. Reding the CF-28FAQ should give him the links to get to all the driver download sections...
