Hello recently got a cf-29ENKNXKM, (dell sitting in basement hook up to old monitor along with acer in same shape) it came with 40g hd, wifi, ts and I went for the backlit emmisive kb. This thing came with 512m of ram but everthing I see as for model #'s says 256. I haven't opened anything up yet but getting ready to start looking around. I just use it for surfing and a few minor other things so it doesn't need to be anything special. I wanted to start with adding a cd so I can try out some of the usb gps systems and upgrading the ram ofcourse. Eventually moving on to some of the more complicated and desirable upgrades. But just to start with A few ? and any help is app so Thanks in advance.
I see threads about swaping the cd's for dvd/cd's but is the floppy to cd hard. And i also saw that the cd from the 28's will work in the 29's will this, (model cf vcd271), fit in my 29 and what would I need to make it happen, difficulty?
And what model ram should I be looking for for this 29, What should I be looking for at when I open it up. Again thanks for the info and I'm sorry to be so TB illiteate but it's something I plan to change.

The cf vcd271 cd caddy will work great
No modding a floppy caddy to make a cd caddy though
Remove the bottom ram cover to see if you have a extra ram module
200pin Pc2700ddr1 ram is what it takes
