Heartland Services > Home.... They have no online store... But you can call them and possibly order or send it in for installation.

Personally.... when my wife swiped her fingerprint and gained access to my Toughbook.... I knew the fingerprint scanners were crap. (Not that I don't trust my wife... She knows my passwords!) But the point it that they can be sometimes fooled.

You cannot beat a good, strong password! Yeah... The scanner may be cool looking and a nice extra option... But if you are worried about security.... Password protect your BIOS, Your hard drive and your Admin sections... Then DARE someone to steal it!

Just a quick note - *******************************************, right? Or is there something super cool and secure about the way a TB stores those passwords?

I *think* (my humble and somewhat amateur opinion) is that if you really want security, you need to encrypt your filesystem, but I could be wrong in my assumption about the BIOS passwords.

Aerik... We cannot discuss how to get around passwords in open forum... The fact is.... A good strong password will be better than the fingerprint reader... Well... Perhaps not fact... But in my experience at least.

Also... To my knowledge... There is no way to get around password protecting your hard drive... Possibly short of reformatting it.

Of course it all comes down to the fact that if someone wants something bad enough, they will get it eventually. You are really trying to keep honest people honest and some of the bad ones away.
