HaHa ok maybe not exactly rice out, just fill the blank spot that normal says "TOUGHBOOK". Even if it's just a piece that says ToughBook that would be fine.

If you are getting 4 hrs on a battery I think that is good. Now about the caddy, well I could point you to the post/topic about it but I'm not because most of us really don't want to go down that road again. The caddies weren't " toughbook approved" to put it mildly and something that was thrown together to make a fast buck.

That's what I get for labeling this rice out a toughbook. 2nd look on the 1st pic is that sharpie?

When I attempt the sata mod I'll get a real caddy. For now I'll try and figure out how to get the 320GB IDE one to work. taken the caddy apart a few times so I am good on that part. The D drive works but is not listed on the 1st screen of bios.

Hint: never use the word "rice" on a technical forum such as this; unless you are discussing what you had, or are planning to have, for dinner. ;)

Hopefully the ToughBook never see temps great enough to boil rice. Speaking of how do these fully rugged models vent/cool? You barely even hear the hard drive spin if you put your ear up to it.

Um.... Put that black toughbook out in the sun with a pot of rice on it... It will boil... It will also mess up your touchscreen and lead to premature LCD failure.

Also... Max pic posting size is 500 X 500... Can you please shrink that one?

Taking care of that now. iPhone makes pics huge from the start. I read up after purchase of black and failure of screens. Most likely from the looks of it, I will end up with another in a month or so. Shooting for business class maybe.

Shrunk but it still shows up as huge when I re post it. Gonna delete it since it's in my avatar for the moment. As for the scuff guard it came with it but I'll see how long it holds out. I work night shift indoors so it nor I barely see the light of day.

A use for old Toughbooks. Get out there and start cooking rice on them.

Adam, that clinical rubber mat protector is so old school. All the hip kids are going with my psychedelic Lid Protection in glorious technicolor!

Now that is before my time! I'm more of a cherry wood grain person. Could fit the title and get a big sheet of fake carbon fiber from autozone. Our car club has a vinyl cutter so I'm gonna see how that works/holds up.

You guys hurt the rubber mats feelings and it started to peel off. Had to "Put it down" earlier yesterday evening. Still waiting for direct deposit to hit for that eBay item on page one.
