hello
I hesitate between two offers to purchase a cf-19 with two differant shops
the first sells the cf-19 MK2 new and unused, may nearly the equivalent of $ 800 with a port replicator vehicle and an external USB Combo Drive (DVD-ROM / CD-RW)
the second shop sells imported cf-19MK6 as sample for
of eventual buyers, I do not know how many hours has it in bios,
but what I know is that they have this sample, at least since April 2014, and
maybe even before, and it is on all the time, its price is equivalent to: 1300 dollars (without the accessories mentioned for MK2)
both offer a guarantee
knowing that, I do not want to put it in a car, and it interested me in toughbook cf-19 is its sunlight readable screen, and the fact that I can install windows 8 above, in addition to its strength, so I tell myself that
MK2 is too old and slow (despite being under packing list), and I do not think windows 8 am very interresting above? (I wonder if that's possible)
the MK6 worked a lot and I wonder if the brightness is down and no longer reaches 6000 cd / m² ? ( for CF-19 MK5 MK6 and MK7)
Thank you to advise me, I have not much time, I have to decide, and I hate to get into the very closed circle of toughbookers! because his will be my first but not the last I hope!

Go for MK6. It doesn't matter to me if it has a long hrs. of used but that is me. The MK6 has an LED backlight on which it will last 3 times compare to CCFl tube. The MK2 has a ccfl tube even if it is new, I will still prefer to grab the MK6 with faster processor, better video card and chipset.
ohlip -
Thank you for your quick answer
and about windows 8 on MK6, the experience is as good as on MK7 ? -

another question about the battery, that the MK2 has never worked, but in theory it dates from 2008,
MK6 has accumulated a lot of loading cycle, but in theory it dates from 2013, which is the most effective? knowing that it is the same model of battery on both, namely the CF-VZSU48U -

mk6 battery is probably in better condition.

thanks, and about my first question ?
Incidentally, I have found two videos of cf-19 working on Windows 8, the first is on a MK7:
The Gadget Show Tests 2 Panasonic PCs - YouTube
and the second on MK5:
Panasonic Toughbook CF-19 - pancerny laptop do zadaÅ specjalnych. Twardy Reset 108 - Technowinki
and I'm in between

the videos do not show too much running windows 8 on the cf-19 -

another video of windows 8 on cf-h2, which has the most screen-like cf-19 :
see table (it's in french) :

the video : Torture Testing the Panasonic Toughbook H2 Tablet PC - YouTube
Again, we can not judge the operation of windows 8 on Toughbooks

I think we only have a couple of members with a CF-19 MK6 or MK7 and I think they have W7 on them. I have a MK5 with W7 on it...Windows 8 to me is a dead issue . Tried it....deleted it  -

Win 8 OS is designed for multilayer touchscreen like those on consumable tablet out there. This also not good for dual or Ts model. For me, using win 8 make your life more difficult and miserable . But its your choice.

@ OP :
unless you have an absolute need to run W8.1 (W8.0 has to be upgraded to 8.1) ... run W7 .
if you want a desktop that you can work with/on W7 is much more user friendly .
if you must use/have W8.1 ... load "classic shell" ... this will make W8.1 look/feel like W7 .
Help me to choose please !!!
