So I bought a CF-M34N which should be a Mk 3 on ebay. I have installed Windows XP SP2 and the touchscreen driver (by extracting it then running setup.exe) and both the mouse and hotkey drivers (by right clicking on the appropriate icon in the device manager and clicking update driver and then pointing to the appropriate extracted driver).

I can't get the touch screen to work, either with my finger or with a stylus from my lenovo X61 tablet. Don't have the original stylus.

The touch screen is set to enabled in the bios, and says it is assigned the 2E8IRQ7 port. I have also tried the "Auto" setting.

So, my question is how do I get the touch screen driver's to work?

In the system tray is a program called "Pointer Device Settings". I go to adjust settings then the hardware tab and have tried both auto detect and each of the com ports. The advanced button is greyed out.

Any idea on what I need to do to get it to work?

    Thanks!!

Please read the first few posts on this thread, or search the forum for touchscreen install and you will find your answer. It's kind of a lengthy and finicky process, but if you follow the steps correctly, and in order, you should be good to go.

EDIT: Just saw you posted on a 34, not a 28. Don't know if the steps are the same, but have you tried this?

hi! you must configure the IRQ setting manually. Set the touchscreen setting on the bios manually(Enable not auto) and then try each IRQ coz some IRQ are used by other device.

    That's exactly what I did.

I have tried all the IRQ settings both with the Device Configuration of the Advanced tab of the bios set to "OS" and set to "BIOS"

I have also tried disabling all serial ports except the Touch Screen.

One odd thing I have noticed is that sometimes the irq port resources as listed in the device manager don't appear in the touchscreen calibration screen.

Will someone with a working CFM-34 touch screen in XP do me a favor and list what they have in the Advanced section of their bios? Specifically:
    Device Config: OS or BIOS
    Serial Port A: Disable/Enable/etc
    Serial Port B: Disable/Enable/etc
    Touch Screen: Enable/Disable/etc

And do those setting match what's listed in the device manager? How about in the calibration program?

    Thanks in advance!!

Never mind, I finally figured it out. There is a conflict with the Lucent WinModem. You have to go to Device Manager -> Modems -> Lucent WinModem -> Advanced Tab -> Advanced Port Settings button -> and change the COM Port Number to COM5.

I found this buried on the Japanese drivers site...

After that, I loaded the BIOS default settings and then set calibration to Auto....

    Hope it helps someone else!
