Have a mint conditon CF-17. First hard drive failed, carried to a local shop and just had a 3 Gig hard drive installed as stop-gap [been a couple of years ago-I know, it was stoopid]

Have decided to get it going again. I have tried to stick the hard drive from my CF-27 with Win 2K. No joy. Just get OS not found...

Put the drive back in the 27, and deleted the Atapi drives, put back in the 17, just keeps re-booting....

The CF-17 does not have a floppy or CD. I do have the Panny floppy drive that connects to the docking station.

Is there a way to load an OS on a fresh or freshly formatted hard drive in the 27 or 28 and install in the 17 running 2K.
