    I'm confused by the 32-64 bit version of Windows 7 needed to upgrade from XP.

    I've read here that it's the 32 bit, but the Intel processor is a Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor U7500 which has a 64bit instruction set.

    So can some one explain why it's not the 64bit version of W7 that should be used?

    32 bit max RAM is 3.25GB... if you want 4GB ram in your 19 then you NEED 64 bit to take advantage of that.
