Coming from my cf30. What do you all think the problem is? I thought maybe failing Hd but when I angle the laptop a certain way it stops. Maybe it needs a cleaning?

It could be the high voltage inverter board at the base of the display. Try turning the brightness up and down to see if the sound changes.

Yep, if the brightness isn't on the highest setting it makes the noise. [IMG]

The inverter works by pulse modulation and may have a loose component. I doubt that would cause it to fail, but if the noise is a bother you might try opening the lid to get at the slim inverter board and put a tiny dab of hot glue on each component. I have not tried that myself, just guessing.

Does it make the noise when it's running off the battery, or only when it's plugged in?

The vibration come from the inductive component of your inverter board. Based on the screen shot of your screen, it has 15,000 something hrs. on it. Overtime solder spot on wires burned and started to fail. As Springfield mentioned, check the wires that soldered on the two small black rectangular shape about 3cm component of the inverter board(if I mentioned the name of the component you may not understand if you have no background on electronics component, just to make it simple) if one or two wires maybe running open/Zeta and then resolder. it usually covered by a dab of glue. Hope it helps.
