Depending on the particular ASCII character you want, if you are running Microsoft ™ Windows®:

Click [start] --> [Run...] --> [Open] --> Type in Charmap then "click" the [ OK ] button.

This will bring up the Windows® ASCII Character Map, where you should be able to select the ASCII character you want.

I think what you might be looking for is the BIOS sequence to enter any ascii value from the keyboard. On my W7, I can hit Fn-Alt-(number, using the number pad, not the row of number keys) to enter any ascii value.

So, for instance, entering Fn-Alt-li(l and i being 3 and 5, respectively, on the numberic pad) produces a #. this works under DOS or any OS, I should think, assuming the OS does not preempt the interpretation of the keystrokes.

I would think the W2 is the same, but I can check that tomorrow, to be sure.

Note, you can also get the MS keyboard remap program (free) to get the keyboard to produce a special character not direcetly supplied by the default keyboard mapping. This, of course, only works under a MS OS.

    That help?

    AWESOME!

I just did it for that exclamation mark (alt+33). i was trying to figure that out the other day, and the number row doesn't work.

    THANKS!
