Would have thought this would be easy to figure out but mu eugooglizing skills yielded nothing. :(

    I have a "spare" CF-18 that I got on ebay about a year ago. It's a touchscreen model # CF-18FJAZABM.

The other 18 that I've been using daily for almost 2 years is an 18NDHZXVM digitizer and its recovery disks do not work for the touchscreen one.

Also, if I can't locate recovery discs, how do I tell if my product key I have on the bottom of the unit is for XP Tablet or just XP Pro? I have a retail copy of XP Pro - would the 18's key work with that disc?

You have a mk-3 touchscreen model that originaly came with xp pro sp-2
The coa on the bottom will state xp pro , and you will need to find an oem xp pro disk to use the key on the bottom and then reload the drivers
Your retail version will work if you have a retail key ,it will not work with the panasonic key
