After a while, the little nub on the top of the fingerprint reader door wears down, and it no longer clicks into the frame of the reader housing. I've hit upon a nice little solution. Just put a small dot of superglue on the little rubber nub, and then--this is the crucial step--dust the superglue dot with baking soda. It immediately hardens and the door latch is good as new.

Good technique and safer than a not-too-hot, clean soldering iron dragged along the 'little nub' which is what I did. Works fine but only if your hands are steady enough.
