    Hello all.
Today I will tell you HOWTO instal not native Gobi 2000 in CF-30 MK1 with Windows 7.
    Some words about module.
This is Qualcomm Gobi2000 un2420 WWAN card. You can bought it here for examle: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Qualcomm-Gobi-2000-HP-UN2420-wwan-Card-GPS-Unlocked-/180897191392
Since I have a few critical services for the support I need to be constantly online. I bought it for my office Dell latitude E7420 laptop. And succesfully install it. A couple month later company bought me original dell wwan module and gobi has gone in to the box.
Last summer I was going on a trip to Lake Baikal. And of course I needed the internet and GPS there. I ask myself a question: Can I install not native Gobi2000 in to my Panasonic CF-30. And the result was: I have the internet and GPS.

    OK. This is HOWTO:
    1. First of all instal module to SLED

    2. Power on laptop and go to BIOS.
On Advanced tab Enable Wireless WAN.

    Save changes and Exit BIOS.
    3. Boot Windows. And go to "Device Manager".
You will see picture like this:

Our module defined in the system. We need drivers and software.
You can download necessary software here:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4VK3HOesic1TDRrb29WbWZnS3M/view?usp=sharing
    4. Create folder in the root directory. For example "Gobi":

And unzip downloaded software in to this folder:

    5. Open folder Gobi driver and launch file "Launcher" with admin rights:

When installation complited in the device manager/ports you will see HP un2420 HS-USB QDLoader:

This tell us that diver installed succesfully but firmware is not loaded in to module. The hp software have some problem. It didn't load firmware automatically. On some forum I find utilities than help us.
    6. Open folder "Gobi2kFirmwareLoader" and run "install" script with admin rights:
This script install application as a service and start it. (For each windows startup this service will automatically load firmware into module).
    7. After service started device manager find new equipment and automatically install drivers.

HP un2420 Mobile Broadband Module Modem - this is cellular modem and HP un2420 Mobile Broadband Module NMEA - this is our GPS.
    8. Test internet connection over cellular:

And GPS work with some free programs that you can find in the folder Gobi.

In Russia we use UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA. Firmware loader load Generic UMTS firmware as default. With utility "GobiAllPowerSwither" you can choose what firmware to load. Just run GobiAllPowerSwitcher in command line with option "help" and follow the instruction.

    Thanks.
