I really need someone who has a clue abbot vin 7 or vista upgrade on CF-19chgaxbm!
I read a cf-18 step by step install , also the Pana site instruction..
    2 questions!!

    1-
In Device manager I have no ACPI\MAT0021 !!!
    I have a ACPI\MAT0020 !! And I can't find a driver for it.
Also non of the Tablet pc buttons, or touchscreen calib, or other function works!

2, DO I need to upgrade a BIOS before I will do the Vista upgrade???
My BIOS version is : V1.00L13

I called a panasonic support about 15 times, they keep saying to install the tablet button driver , but my device manager looking for a MAT0020 driver

I'm really tired, I bought this laptop a month ago, and didn't enjoy for a second because I hate xp, and I want a win 7, or vista...
    Please help!!

if you want vista that bad, can you get a vista restore disc from ebay? would save on the headache. shouldn't run you more than 20-30 bucks. worth the time savings alone.

I could see installing W7... But Vista? ACK!

I believe that you need to update the BIOS with the proper BIOS revision... One allows you to install XP... And one allows you to install Vista. I THINK that is how it goes... I am sure others will chime in....

EDIT - A Vista Restore Disk will NOT work on a Toughbook that came stock with XP Pro...

Any O/S will load with any bios version, but you should have the Vista bios if you are running Vista/W7 for mk-1 units
The bios is updated within windows (not floppy drive) on these newer models

I did update my bios, and I was able to install a meitbtn and a bluetooth driver.
I have left only 1 question...
When I start a windows, I got this message : Access to Panasonic driver was unsuccessful .Confirm whether the Panasonic Misc driver is available..
The problem is in the device manager I have no error, so how can I install a misc driver???

    Driver order is important

I have had to install/reinstall at times to get things working properly

If you have downloaded all the drivers from the panasonic downloads site and have run them, they end up in C: utility's or C: utilities2
Find the misc driver in that folder and see if there is an exe file to run
Also look in add and remove programs for information
By the way there is new misc driver as well and some only work if others are loaded first
