    Greetings all,

    New member here.

Anyone know what is required to upgrade the ram in a CF-48 model? Dis-assembly?

Is this a time consuming project?

    Thanks in advance.

Simple task. Remove the one screw on the RAM cover, line up the new SODIMM module and push it in place.

Thanks! Do you know by chance what kind, model or type of ram I would need to buy to fit this laptop? Its not with me at this time, so I cannot check this out yet.

You can go to www.800memory.com and enter your make and model and it will tell you exactly what you need. Either that or download any of the numerous manuals available online. There are a lot of sites that offer manuals and drivers for the Toughbooks.

    (From the website mentioned...)

    If you have a pentium 4 -

"Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700 with a maximum of 512MB per slot."

    If you have a Pentium 3 -

" Each memory slot can hold SDRAM, PC133 with a maximum of 256MB per slot."

    Good Luck!
