    ~Toughbook Talk~ Toughbook Discussion • View topic - OMG! I got a BRAND NEW CF-52 13" Touch model

This is the RAREST of the rare! CF-52GUNBR2M. It's just AMAZING! It's got the EXACT same screen as the CF-30! 1000 nits too! Touch works great. Brighter than the sun! It has 10 hours on it (so basically new). It smells new, it has a NEW battery and I wrapped a NEW AC with it too. NO OPTICAL, but that's okay for now. Single 2GB DDR2 chip with 1 open slot and a 160GB drive. Still under warranty until December of 2012 with Panasonic too :). It came with a lame GOBI 1000 chip in it, but I put that $35 GOBI 2000 chip into it just fine that I snagged off eBay last. The GPS works GREAT on it :) GOOOOOOD 6+ hour battery life as well :) RED LED's on both sides of the screen as well as a stylus and holder on the screen. I WON BIG TIME WITH THIS BID!

Alex, you haven't visited TBT since May 14th... What's going on here? :/

The GUN's are really that rare? I worked in the repossession business and that exact computer was what we used with our ALPR (automatic license plate recognition) system in our tow trucks. The vendor has stacks of them. I bought one that was to be taken out of service for less than $500, with Windows 7 COA (they were downgraded to XP for compatibilty with PAGIS).

The CF-52's are ok, the dual red LED's over the standard keyboard were easy to read/type on but the computer itself was unremarkable (except for being semi-rugged). They would have looked nicer if it was all black, the silver made it look like a CF-74 when closed. I gave the computer to my son for him to use at college. I am a bit on the paranoid side about the VPRO technology though.

I know this is an old thread :)

Indeed there's only one CF-52 rarer than yours, and that'd be the touchscreen of that generation that had W7 recovery discs from factory, which are the CF-52GUNBP2B
