Hello everyone! Going to upgrade my FZ-M1 with 4G modem Sierra Wireless EM7430. Do I need a "specific" EM7430 (specially designed or flashed for FZ-M1) or any other EM7430 can be used? Is there some "step-by-step guide" how to disassemble FZ-M1 and install the modem? What should I pay attention to?
    Thanks in advance!

Shawn, thank you for the information!
Is it possible to order an "upgrade kit" or something like that (from Panasonic or other vendors), that includes the device itself and all the necessary connections, antenna wires, silicon seals etc? Because I'm not sure that lots I'm interested in are available on eBay now...

Thanks, but I know it for sure that an eBay seller (one at least) can upgrade it to 4G (the same exact model). So, there is such a possibility. I don't think it's a rocket science, but some tech documentation / photo / video really appreciated. And a special thank for the info about JIS screwdriver!
UPD: The best option is if someone can share how to add FLIR Lepton, but I don't think that anyone would share.
UPD2: FLIR Lepton is only available on mk3 (7th-series Intel CPU) and, as the vendor says, it is not an upgradable option.

Have upgraded my FZ-M1F300XVM with EM7355. "Main" goes to grey wire, "AUX" goes to green. I used putty to configure a modem.

mSATA I suppose. Not M.2 for sure. I can upload some pictures if you're interested.

    )) They both are tough!
As for me, FZ-M1 is very useful if you're on move. You get a desktop in your pocket. I have FZ-G1 as well, and CF-33, but they are not so portable.
I have also upgraded it with a LAN Kit, but can not run it at 1 Gbit... Check my other thread.

    OK, thanks for the information!
I believed that M.2 is a SATA form-factor only (like the SSD on the photo). The modem was wider and that confused me a bit )) Thanks for the correction!

    M.2 (NGFF) gets real confusing.
Same socket has many different lengths.
Several different pin / slot configurations.
Some can accept modems / gps only
    Some are SSD only.
    Some are both.
    Some have PCI interface.
    Some have SATA interface
    Some have USB interface.
    Some have a combination.
