OK, I will try and make this short as possible. When I bought my 30 the sales rep said the antenna connection on the back is for when I dock my 30 then I can use an external antenna for my Verizon. Well, I had learned awhile back that it's not true. The owner of the company who I had bought it from said it would be very expensive to make it do what I want it to do. However, now I have been told that they can now do alot easier than before. The NEW sales rep says it will take a 1 day turn around and cost only about 100.00 bucks. Panny must have figured out a different, easier way to do it. So, who wants to learn how to do this mod? I am sure there is alot of people that would greatly benefit from this.

I'm a little confused about what you actually want to do. The antenna connection on the back (The Passthrough) does work flawlessly when used with the proper equipped dock. Of course you would need an antenna that connects to the passthrough on the dock.

However there are several types of passthroughs. I have a dual passthrough that connects not only the WWAN but also the GPS with an outside antenna. They can also be hooked up to connect the wifi and WWAN... There are also single passthroughs that will take either the WWAN or the WIFI... So... If you have a dual passthrough laptop and a single passthrough dock... It won't work. If you have a single passthrough laptop and no passthrough on the dock... It still won't work.

Are you looking to mount a SMA bulkhead connector back there? That would be fairly easy to do and take about 20-30 minutes and about $10 or so. Plus you would need to fab up a mount for the bulkhead connector which is easy enough.

Is this what you are referring to?
