I've been hearing horror stories about the australian cf-18. give us your full model number you may have to start over and put the drivers back on in a certain sequence
-
yeah, thanks for responding, the full p/n is CF-18NDHZXVM

your model has a digitizer not a touchscreen and it looks like the OS it's supposed to be running is Windows XP tablet edition 2005.
Try reading these threads to see if they help you out any

Thank you, so the digitizer still works as a touch screen? I'm at work so I will look more into this when i get home, thank you for your help

the digitizer won't respond to touch, it only responds to the pen from what I hear. I have never really used a digitizer unit.
-
Do you have the digitizer pen?
As Dan said, it is not a touchscreen, it will only work with the pen

duh didn't think to ask that, i thought he said he was using the pen lol

Hi, if I may hijack this thread!! I have a CF-18K and also have problems with the touchscreen. I have installed the latest drivers (XP SP2) and the touchscreen is enabled but I cannot calibrate it. When I click on the crosshairs and then 'Enter' to exit, I get the "Parameter Error. Please input again" that others have reported. I have noticed, however, that any touching of the screen with the stylus sends the cursor off the bottom of the screen. If I have several windows in my bottom toolbar, I can select them, with the stylus/finger, by clicking anywhere above them!!
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks, Malcolm -
Yes, read the aforementioned threads regarding the ORDER OF INSTALLATION of drivers. If I remember correctly, this resolved the "Parameter Error". Once that is correct, let us know if the calibration problem remains.

i do have the pen, and am i to understand that i maybe able to get this to work without installing xp tablet 2005, and where is it that i can find the order of installing drivers, I am home now and in front of my cf-18, so any help will be appreciated

One of the links I posted has the order in the thread somewhere, I'm thinking its in the first one. Just read on, you'll prolly need to know all that information eventually anyway

"OS INF File driver , unextract to c: and install and reboot"... can you explain how to do this please
-
the hotkeyplus folder has no drivers in it... is this important?
-

Thank you Tomcat, I will try the drivers when i get home from work and update you on if it worked. I do have a couple questions about reply number 58 that lists the order of installing the drivers" i did it last night and it made no difference, still can't get the digitizer to work" when i tried to install driver for hotkey plus, there was no drivers available,is this important?, and next question, when i get to the mouse drivers, after i install and update the mouse, should i then try to calibrate and activate the digitizer then or wait till i have dl'd all the drivers per the directions of order? Thanks for ALL your help

Here is the download site to use

-

Teo
Its still not quite right as he states in the listing
"There are 4 quick access buttons on the front right corner that I can't seem to get turned on"
So we will probably see the new owner here in a few weeks for some more free info
Alex -
Psych0Thrasher Notebook Evangelist
aren't the front buttons the hotkeyplus ones?
-
And the link that I posted before has a very detailed order that the drivers have to be installed, or the buttons do not work
Alex -
Just so people know (As if it isn't already spelled out often enough around here!) some of the Hotkey drivers are programs that need to be installed and some are drivers that should be installed via Device Manager.... (Look for the yellow question mark.)

I had no problems with installing all my drivers including the hotkeyplus on my cf-18 then again I don't have the pain in the a$$ aussie unit
I am unable to get mycf-18 touchscreen to operate
