I've been hearing horror stories about the australian cf-18. give us your full model number you may have to start over and put the drivers back on in a certain sequence

the digitizer won't respond to touch, it only responds to the pen from what I hear. I have never really used a digitizer unit.

Do you have the digitizer pen?
As Dan said, it is not a touchscreen, it will only work with the pen

Hi, if I may hijack this thread!! I have a CF-18K and also have problems with the touchscreen. I have installed the latest drivers (XP SP2) and the touchscreen is enabled but I cannot calibrate it. When I click on the crosshairs and then 'Enter' to exit, I get the "Parameter Error. Please input again" that others have reported. I have noticed, however, that any touching of the screen with the stylus sends the cursor off the bottom of the screen. If I have several windows in my bottom toolbar, I can select them, with the stylus/finger, by clicking anywhere above them!!

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks, Malcolm

Yes, read the aforementioned threads regarding the ORDER OF INSTALLATION of drivers. If I remember correctly, this resolved the "Parameter Error". Once that is correct, let us know if the calibration problem remains.

It's a real irritating process, read it a couple of time and make sure you have everything before you start that way you won't have to keep doing it over again

Thank you Tomcat, I will try the drivers when i get home from work and update you on if it worked. I do have a couple questions about reply number 58 that lists the order of installing the drivers" i did it last night and it made no difference, still can't get the digitizer to work" when i tried to install driver for hotkey plus, there was no drivers available,is this important?, and next question, when i get to the mouse drivers, after i install and update the mouse, should i then try to calibrate and activate the digitizer then or wait till i have dl'd all the drivers per the directions of order? Thanks for ALL your help

Here is the download site to use
    http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/cgi-bin/itn/toughbook/dl01.cgi

    Driver
    Cf-18n/p
    Windows xp sp2
    English
    Click search

The + driver is there, and every other driver you need, except touchscreen drivers as you run the other application on the link I supplied before

Its still not quite right as he states in the listing
"There are 4 quick access buttons on the front right corner that I can't seem to get turned on"
So we will probably see the new owner here in a few weeks for some more free info

Yes, there was an issue with not finding them when he unextracted them
And the link that I posted before has a very detailed order that the drivers have to be installed, or the buttons do not work

Just so people know (As if it isn't already spelled out often enough around here!) some of the Hotkey drivers are programs that need to be installed and some are drivers that should be installed via Device Manager.... (Look for the yellow question mark.)
