Well my CF-29 finally came in from Geeks.com...It is an SBC unit
CF29HTM50BM. It has the shottiest paint job I have ever seen on the lid, but it seems to function great. The touchscreen isn't very sensitive though. Also I noticed that there is no sled above the battery. It is just a cover. Coming out of the card slot is what appears to be an antenna hookup. Where would I install the wwan? Where can I buy cosmetic parts. Lid cover, corner (bumpers?) ect.

Would love to see pictures.

Haha you're kidding me right..this thing looks like it was thrown in a dumpster and peed on
-
Or let geeks know that you will be posting a picture on this forum, maybe it will motivate them to send you a better unit.
-
HAHA thats a great idea actually. I dont think it will do much good considering right after I purchased it the website showed out of stock. I'm pretty sure I got the last one. Oh well maybe I'll give it a nice finish of duracoat.

So.... The 85%....
When you say the touchscreen "Isn't very sensative" what do you mean? Do you have to push hard on the screen?
You have the regular WM cover above the battery. There is no sled on the old SBC models.... Instead they snaked the antenna lead from the passthrough to the card in the PCMCIA slot. You CAN retrofit a sled in there though... You just need the parts. -
They just desperately want to be among the elite, but for some reason just can't quite cut it. But really, who can blame them?
So, some of our more savvy and aggressive members have taken to requesting an actual photo, preferably on top a copy of today's Wall Street Journal.
It's nothing personal, you understand... -

I just come over from the Alienware forums to keep you guys in line

HAHA Toughbook posers huh! Yeah I'll try to get some pics up..It's ugly but it seems to be working fine. 85% cosmetically but it seems to be 15 work wise. How would I retrofit a sled? I don't subscribe to the WSJ but how about a copy of Hustler? J/K I hope the paint on the hinges shows. I think they took this thing to Maaco. Maybe I'll take the shotty paint job as a blessing and another excuse to duracoat something.
-
What was a good paint to use on these? Mine is black but if I just so happen to leave the country on extended stay it will be any color but black.

I use duracoat on pretty much anything. It is orginally a weapons finish so its built to last. Manufacturer of DuraCoat Firearms Finishes
I finally got my toughbook
