    I obviously need to find a new employer- one that won't fire me for bringing firearms to work..... (hopefully I did not just hit the proxy watch list by merely typing the word firearm on a company computer)

    Firearm, guns, shooting- put that in your proxy filter and smoke it. :p

    That's why I don't like firearms in the hands of lunatics :eek:

    Imagine if just one citizen was at the right place with their own concealed handgun ...

    Imagine if half that crowd was armed ....

    Since we can't eliminate all the lunatics, maybe we should be ready to defend ourselves and those we love.

    i guess this will be a never ending debate. in the Netherlands we have strickt rules about guns. If you have a licence you can have one, but storage and transportation are limited. In a small, dense populated country like the Netherlands with 17 million people you don't want people to carry guns, because the risks at casualties are high when people start to argue, fight etc. Up until a few years ago fire-arm casulties where rare (except people in the drugs-scene) because there are so few firearms. Ever since the Balkan war, we are flooded with cheap, low quality handguns, assault rifles, hand grenades and even the occasional anti-armour rocket grenade launcher. These are often bought by criminals and foolish youngsters that want to be cool or feel threathned. They are not the most stable people around and that is why I'm pro on heavy punishment for unlawfull carrying arms.

    On the other hand, if you live in eeehm, Mid-West of the USA, or somewhere in the bush in Australia, it would be foolish to not protect yourself as the nearest help might be hundreds of miles away and could take several hours or before help can reach you by plane.
    I never had a gun, most likely never will, but I'm certainly not against them. Some day I might just get a small course to learn to handle a fire-arm safely.

    Shooting was a huge success! Burned chest from a shell going down my shirt, a bruised shoulder from a ridiculously powerful 7.62 Mosen Negant along with an ENDLESS amount of ammo = 3+ hours of fun.

    Ooh, i have one of those. Somewhere at least. It hasnt been fired since world war one though. I believe it was a souvenir from the russian front.
