    I usually use Belarc Advisor (also free) for this function;

    only because I'm usually looking for additional info besides just product registration when I'm getting ready to Nuke & Pave. However, Belarc Advisor DOES install as a program on your machine, which takes a while.

    This nifty little utility is much faster & less intrusive if you just want product registration info, tho.
