I recently obtained a CF-19CHBAXBM which I have added a 120GB drive, Verizon 5727 EVDO card, Internal Ublox GPS, and running Win 7 with all drivers and functions running smooth. My last bit of modding was to add a sunlight readable LED touchscreen with active digitizer. I have a toshiba LCD with a Wacom digitizer......but for the life of me I cannot locate the FPC cable to run from the digitizer to the MLB....

If anyone can help I have all kinds of goodies from WAN to Wireless N....drives...etc. I'm willing to trade.

I'd even settle for a pinout so that I can create my own cable...I have read the posts here and know one of you has to be holding out on me..... :D

    You are confused

It looks to me that you are the one holding out on us

Its give and take around here ;)

    Please post details on

    The type of ubox module
Where you placed it inside the cf-19
Where you interfaced it and pin outs
The type of antenna used and placement, and the performance of your setup
Any details or hints on installing W7

I also got W7 loaded on my 19 perfectly save for the auto rotate function when you spin the lid. Are you saying even that works on your setup?

Boy oh boy did I get some ears to perk up round here! Now that it is mentioned it looks as if I was jumping the gun when I said "Flawlessly." Doobi had to go and call me out on the display rotate. Although it will rotate, it is not automatic when placed in tablet mode. I must rely on the soft key on the front. (Damn you!!!! what I though was an achievement on my part has all been undone with a couple of posts :p )

The GPS model is the Ublox LEA-5h http://www.ublox.com/en/gps-modules/pvt-modules/lea-5h.html I have not decided on its permanent home but will post pictures once I have finalized it.

I work for a rugged slate style pc company and have used the internals of our GPS solution. The other "goodies" have also come from my many years with the company. As a tech the parts just seem to accumulate...as a good citizen I must re-home as many orphaned parts that I can ;)

Can you elaborate on what a "rugged slate style pc company" is? I'm curious...

    Cool mods btw...

Can across this thread/forum searching for a LCD cable for one of CF-19
mod projects. I read the post from TomCat and would give one of my nuts for the schematic for the CF-19.

I am swapping in a TouchScreen from one of the parts CF-18's I have but the the CF-19 had a Digitizer so the LCD cable is different. The TS controller is PS/2 and I assume the Wacom controller is also so it may be possible to swap the connectors from the Digitizer over to the TS plug. But I hate assuming, as that can result in unexpected results!

I know its not proper forum practice to ask before you give but I hope an exception can be made if I promise to post some of my mods and projects once I have pics of it all. I do alot with rugged laptops and tablets so this has been my humble existence for the past 10 years or so.

Or if anyone has a lead on the LCD touch-screen cable that is also fine.

    Thanks, RuggedSolutions

    Type of Toughbook
CF-19CDGCAVM ( but it is going to have a TS so the second letter is H )

Should I resort to begging for the schematics?
