Hi... I still need a 13.3 " touchscreen assy (or a complete lid with 13.3" lcd and touchscreen)
I need the factory lan mini-pci card.
I need the panel that has the RJ45 (ethernet) and RJ11 (modem) with the little circuit board that has the jacks soldered on.
I need an lcd hinge cover.
I need a standard keyboard.
I need the factory wifi antenna (from a unit with Cisco AIR-LMC352 card) with all the cables (including the pass-through rear assy if possible)
I'd rather buy from folks here than a stranger on EBAY.
I have a CDPD card (Sierra Wireless) and an antenna that I don't need, so if anyone wants one, let me know.
If I can get a 13.3" display with touchscreen I will probably have a nice 12.1" with touchscreen as well.

Didn't I just send you the Wifi antenna with all the stuff you needed? The factory LAN cards are a dime a dozen. If you are talking about the pc board that the CDPD card is attached to then you'll want to keep that if you want to install GPS. If it is just the CDPD itself.... You can probably throw it away. I have about 20-30 CDPD and RIM cards in my stockpile.
I just paid $9.99 each for some hinge covers, the ones I had were pretty scarred. If you want a beat-up hinge cover I can send you one gratis if you pay postage. Same with the LAN card. I can get you a keyboard cheap... PM me if you are interested. -
Let me explain the problem.
I bought a "parts machine" which turned out to be in such nice shape I decided to make that the base machine for my project work. The exterior was in better shape than even the original system I had.
It was missing the keybd, and hinge cover, hard drive, battery, had no ethernet card. Last night I pulled those parts from my "project machine" and put them into what was originally supposed to be the "parts machine". This "parts machine" had the CDPD card and the cellular antenna, I removed those as well.
The reason I bought the parts machine was to get a replacement display/touch screen to use in the original project machine but as I mentioned it was in such nice shape it has now become the project machine....
Last night I also removed the cracked touchscreen from the unit I talked about last week (the old project machine) so I'm thinking I'd like to either get a complete lid w/lcd and touchscreen or just the touchscreen so I can save that 13.3" lcd now sans touchscreen.
All this is so I can get the third machine, now missing alot of parts back into some kind of shape so I can sell it on ebay as a complete system, otherwise it might not fetch what I have into it. (I'd just like to kind of break even)
I want the AIR-LMC352 to re-install in the project machine so I can use wifi and saving one of the mini-pci slots for a usb 2.0 card I'm looking at. I see a few on ebay for around $35.00.
The side plate (and pcb) that has the ethernet jack and phone jack and the factory ethernet card is because the new machine that I bought for parts had only a modem. I'd like to put that into the machine I'm trying to get back into useful condition to sell on ebay.
So...
I swear I will just use the parts to complete this third unit and sell on ebay as a "complete" system. I have no need of (3) systems and I have to keep repeating that to myself especially when I get the basket case unit back into usable condition.
I don't need three machines.
I don't need three machines.
I don't need three machines.
I don't need three machines.
...
You enlightened me about saving the card that the CDPD was installed on. I should only get rid of the CDPD card itself but not the pcb assy. I need to go back and read the aftermarket GPS threads again to understand how they are being grafted in. I infer you mount that on the main card where the RIM and CDPD cards were installed.
Since my main system (with factory gps) has a 12.1" touchscreen I'd like to put a 13.3" display with touchscreen on it. I will then put the 12.1" touchscreen on the machine that is destined for ebay. I've decided I can't live without touchscreen. I don't know why, I never owned one before but now that I do, it's too convenient to give it up.
So I'm willing to pay decent prices for all of the original list of parts in my original post. Otherwise I'm afraid (I am) that I'll end having to purchase multiple machines to get the above list, and compounding my problems of having all these machines. Then I'll be running around trying to get even more parts to complete these machines and before you know it I'll have 5 or 6 toughbooks. Someone please save me from myself. -
I started with 2, to be sure one worked, bought another for a 13.3" touchscreen. Found some more, and now am trying to find parts - almost have one ready to go to eBay.

Yes, I am doomed.
This morning I removed the 12.1" lcd/touchscreen from my "flagship" machine, and installed a 13.3" lcd/touchscreen, it went well.
I'm going to put the 13.3" lcd (that's missing the broken touchscreen) on my project machine, and use it w/o touchscreen until I can locate one. Tonight when I get off work and if I am not too burnt out I'm going to TRY and figure out how to use the XP Pro COA I have with some version of XP distribution.
I need some MORE parts... (CF28)
