    Hello. Me again.

Well. I have given up on the touch screen idea, since I have installed every single driver and widget and thingy that has anything vaguely to do with touch screens and it didn't work. (Thank you guys for all your help!!)

HOWEVER -- now, I have created for myself a BRAND NEW problem, in that all of a sudden, my CF-27 virtually chokes to a standstill trying to play ANY video... INCLUDING the simple visualisations on WMP.

I have XP Professional installed, run WMP11.

I have tried video in EVERY FORMAT, including .wmv .avi .mpg etc. ect.

I have also open the video files from various sources, including the DVD player and the hard drive.

HAVE I BROKEN SOMETHING WHEN I INSTALLED ALL THE TOUCH SCREEN DRIVERS???

I'm with Tomcat on this one. I use several CF-27s at work, but they are really old technology! They're good for what they are, but I never push mine past WIN 2K Pro. Most of them shipped with less than 10GB hard drives and you just can't get them to run the new bloated apps. reasonably.

IMHO, running XP Pro and WMP11 on an older CF-27 is expecting too much, even if you maxed out the RAM.

My 27 chugs along nicely with Win2KPro SP4 and for video/MP3/avi playback, try Media Player Classic, Real Alternative or VLC. All these works like a charm without hogging much resources.

I have a CF-27 and did have Puppy Linux 4.11 running off the CD on it and was making some tweaks to what they call a "Frugal" install when it crashed (I think that it was the "A" and "up/down arrow" icons that were flashing).

Now when I try to boot from CD I get a Kernel Panic error - is there a key somewhere that explains what the icons on the CF-27 mean when they are flashing, please?

    Doc,
Looked in all manuals, user, reference, and service, and can find no mention of error message other than in bios. The section on scroll lock and caps lock lcds makes no mention of error messages, only the battery and media bay lcds are mentioned as having multiple functions including error codes.
