I finally got around to getting my battery for the Media Bay. I charged it up fully before using it. However, I have noticed that both my batteries are showing something I have never seen before.

The light for the main battery will show green, but the percentage will show like 98 to 99%. The same thing shows for my new battery. It doesnt happen all the time. I can be plugged in, meaning using no batteries, and it will go between the high 90's to 100%. I would think it would stay at 100% since it is being charged, plus not being used.

Also, I purchased the Panny desk replicator. I am dissapointed that when it is docked it will not allow the batteries to charge if they need to be. Can't seem to figure that one out as too why they did that?

On W7, with no programs open it's showing right around 15 hours of run time. That's not too shabby. I am guessing with the programs I use I should get around 12 to 13 hours.

You will need to recalibrate the batteries to get a more accurate time remaining.

I have also noticed on some Toughbooks that it will show 98% or 99% for hours if the laptop is still plugged in BUT turned on. If you recalibrate you'll see much more accurate times. Or turn it of and let it sit overnight... But you should still recalibrate... It takes a LONG time with both batteries.

The TB does not charge the battery until it goes below 95%. While Li-Ion batts like to be topped up, they don't like to be overcharged. People who use laptops as desktops (eg my Macbook Pro) will have shortened battery life if they leave the battery in while at the desk for long periods of time.

If you use your non-Toughbook laptops with external power for extended periods of time, it is best to remove the battery.

I never remember seeing it say fully charged, but at 99%. Heck, maybe I never even checked!

I will do a calibration very soon.

I think I will change mine to where it only charges too 90% to help save my batteries.
