after playing about with it i have to say i really like it and rather keep it installed for afew days,
i had to disable the gps caus it was doing the wandering thing, but that the obly down side, also no original drivers so have too do with what vista gives but sets up nicely........

well, well, it took only 30mins to install vist ultimate edition with -
    office 2007, tuneup,system mechanic, antivirus, updates,nero lite

also with alittle more work am sure it can be faster but am not going to try it as am thinking vista home will be better or vista business edition........

anyone have any opions on which edition will suit the toughbook the best.....

Where are you getting all these copies??? Vista is expensive!

My father-in-law runs the IT dept at a local college. He suggested that I stay away from Vista because of all the bugs. Have they fixed them or are you just living with them?

As far as maintenance and settings... How different is it from XP?

Okay... I just finished with your version. I ran it through nLite.... Nothing! It didn't even copy it over. I'm going to try my way one more time then if that doesn't work... I'll try your again.

well we just got them in at work,
and you can guess the rest, i built a x64 desktop pc and used it on there for 6months without any problems but what it was, the size and space it took up and memory it used, my desktop has 2gb ram and it ran like it only had 512mb/1gb so i went back to windows x64,
but then i started playing around with it and it worked out nice once you tweak it,
there a solftware for vista as well to make it lite.....
    thinking of using vista?????
