How would i Make XP install from the Harddrive ?
could i make the harddrive bootable then just copy my XP CD to it
and then run the install ?

Copy the XP CD to a folder and install from there. I have done it with an old copy of DOS LapLink when that was all I have had.

ok i fixed the boot to usb problem
    I had up dated to 200 l16 from 200 l12 BIOS
    You cant do that .
what you have to do is install BIOS

    Model Number(s): CF29ETKGZBM, CF29ETKGZKM CF29_mk2_BIOS_to_boot_from_USB-R-2004-0134-Binary.zip (444.94 KB - English)
    Operating System(s): BIOS
    Release Date: 2004/11/15
BIOS update to provide the ability to boot from a USB CD/DVD drive

    from this page

    https://panasonic.ca/english/customercare/sandd/softwareResults.asp

This will give you a +Floppy in the BIOS Boot selector screen .
that enables Booting from USB external .

OK; now use a USB CD-ROM drive and these:

Panasonic Toughbook CF-29 Product Recovery CD Disks MK2

    and you'll be "Locked & Loaded." ;) :)

Also: be sure to check the ToughBook Buy Sell and Trade Forum for a Product Recovery CD-ROM set, as well.

    1GB DDR1; a DDR2 or 2GB SODIMM (1 or 2) will not work in that unit.
