Hi , I have anew harddrive for a cf-29 E and i want to put XP on it. I have it hooked up externally to a W-7 computer right now. I have No CDDrive in the CF-29.
How would i Make XP install from the Harddrive ?
could i make the harddrive bootable then just copy my XP CD to it
and then run the install ?
-
Ok so far i have partitioned the drive in to 2 partitions and formatted them .
then i set one active . -
Copy the XP CD to a folder and install from there. I have done it with an old copy of DOS LapLink when that was all I have had.
-
or copy your winxp cd to a USB memory stick and set your cf 29 to boot from USB

My bios will not boot to USB . It is version 200-l16
-
ok i fixed the boot to usb problem
I had up dated to 200 l16 from 200 l12 BIOS
You cant do that .
what you have to do is install BIOS
Model Number(s): CF29ETKGZBM, CF29ETKGZKM CF29_mk2_BIOS_to_boot_from_USB-R-2004-0134-Binary.zip (444.94 KB - English)
Operating System(s): BIOS
Release Date: 2004/11/15
BIOS update to provide the ability to boot from a USB CD/DVD drive
from this page
https://panasonic.ca/english/customercare/sandd/softwareResults.asp
This will give you a +Floppy in the BIOS Boot selector screen .
that enables Booting from USB external . -
Funny that the 200 l16 BIOS does not incorporate That fix .

You will need a 1 GB, they don't make a 2 GB in that memory...
CF-29E....200 pins, SO-DIMM, 2.5 V, DDR SDRAM, PC2700
You should be able to get one for $25.00 or so
