I bought the half size mini pcie 6300 wireless n with the 3 antenna. It is detected in device manager and the driver gets installed however it does not work. The intel program says the radio is off, and windows 7 wont find any connections with it as if its unplugged.
The switch on my cf 30 is on, and the light is on. I removed the driver and reinstalled it, but i cannot get it to work.
I had 2 antenna connected and it didnt work. I put the 3rd in and it still doesnt work.
Am i leaning towards a defective unit?

Is the WLAN available in the BIOS? Are the antennae connected correctly to the right jumpers? Do you have the right wireless switch drivers for the right system? Just checking......

Your not the only one having this problem and its not the 30...its the card. I tried the search but could not find the thread/post and if I am right you do need the 3rd antenna...I thinl

The third antenna is not needed for operation. It is needed to support dual band reception but the lack of it will not prevent the card working.
BTW, I believe this problem has already been fixed. Check the link below. Seems the OP is the same.
Here we go again! Do the pin 20 mod. Any time you replace a WLAN card in our toughbooks you will probably have to do this mod unless the card is branded Panasonic in its firmware. That is not easy to check without tiptoeing through that firmware and that requires additional software and procedures I haven't looked into.
Check out this link http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/595917-problems-upgrading-cf-30-internal-wireless.html and don't use a sharpe as the OP found out. More pictures here Index of ./CF-30 Stuff/CF-30 Upgrade to 802.11N Intel 4965 Fix/
Doing search on Google for mini pcie pin 20, I found that we are not the only ones with this type problem. Check out InsanelyMac Forum > Problem upgrading Mini-PCI-Express WIFI card for example.
