I just noticed it is not installed on my CF-30 Win7 installation. Things are running fine as it is. My question is do I need to install it? Or can I live without it?
Everything is running great and I got it setup perfect so I don't want to mess with a good thing.
As I understand it the Manager helps with raid arrays, native command queing and other stuff. any opinions appreciated

If you want to set your SATA operation to AHCI or IRRT you'll need AHCI drivers. You don't necessarily need the IMSM ones though, when installing Win7 a standard AHCI driver is installed so everything is running fine indeed. AFAIK you might need it if you want to use RAID options and such but not for just AHCI operation.

yeah it is running on win7's achi at udma mode 6. I don't see the point in installing on laptop since I am not going to be running raid. I see on the panasonic info it is an optional thing, but if it has some benefits i'll do it.
