I have a mk3 i ordered from online that the touchscreen does not work at all.
I couldnt figure it out so i used the hard drive from my mk4 which has win 7 on it and it loaded up restarted and when i touched the screen the mouse pointer went way off the screen technically it disappeared.

I tried the test but it kept disappearing and i had to bring the mouse cursor back using the touch pad, so i put the original hdd with windows xp on it and for some reason it did the same thing as it did in windows 7. Prior to that though it wouldnt work at all. I am pretty confused at this moment.

Does this sound like "the crud" trapped between the bezel issue?

ahh, i did clean some crud out and then tested. i noticed that the cursor goes the far right side when the screen is touched.

if i touch higher or lower the cursor is still on the right side. i am not sure if this is still a crud issue.
