Yea, I know. The 28's lifespan has been dramatically extended via creative means - namely 20 Channel GPS, USB2.0 PCMCIA, and hidden Bluetooth PCMCIA.

The next Mission Impossible my mind has gotten itself wrapped around is...

Besides the current PCMCIA EVDO cards that WONT fit with door closed and lack of mini-pci e, has anyone stumbled on a working solution for integrated CDMA?

    What I've found so far...
Many adapters are moving to ExpressCard. There are PCMCIA to ExpressCard adapters, but this is of no help as card will still not work with door shut.
Googling for a mini-pci e solution with given hardware yields: " No results found for "pcmcia to mini pci express"." But what does Google know?

My question is: How, if at all, can the 28 adapt to changes in expansion cards in order to use EVDO. Oh, and ext. USB is NOT a solution. I have 1 USB slot I have to SAVE!!!!! Well, not really. I just hate cables sticking out and enjoy the IDEA of leaving USB available. Maybe I'll use it next year.

So there lads and laddies... talwk amongst yourselves.... but on the forum... so's I can hear you... I can't hear you if you only talk to yourselves.... Oh never mind

    dBi-

Several of us are in fact investigating the possibility of using the USB 2.0/hidden PCMCIA slot for one thing: to host an internal USB2.0 hub for essentially unlimited expansion. There is a LOT of empty space inside a CF-28; the only limitation at this point becomes... when will manufacturers of gadgets STOP supporting USB2.0 ?
