    Hey my fellow guru's.

Have installed GPS in the past on CF-29 by wiring to one of the USB ports but that of course takes one away from external use.

Is there another option I have to wire it without taking up an external usb port ? I thought I read at one time there was an internal USB connection available or it may be my old brain having a case of wishful thinking and in searching the forum posts could not find it...

thanks in advance, happy holidays ! Ez on your "modified" eggnog boys !

I too have been wanting to do this but I have blacksmiths hands and that kind of soldering is beyond me. Would apreciate a source for the breakout board.

    TIA

Here ya go. The first one is in the USA, but they hose you on shipping. It is available through Mouser. Just search for the part number. The PCB is kinda large.

    Mouser does have cheaper shipping

    Breakout board

The second one is a better size, but it's in a faraway land. Cheaper shipping though. I just ordered 2 of these. They do come with the fpc connector according to the helpful hardware man.

Fleabay has ribbon cables any size any length. Search for fpc / ffc / ribbon / cable.
It is .5mm pitch. Count over the number of pins you are actually using. You don't need to use a 40 pin cable. The less the pins the cheaper the cable.

Please read the adding external gps thread along with any discussing internal usb ports. Just to make sure I have my fax correct.

Yes, I got lots of photos. I am installing a USB TV stick internally with a lid and an external port for the antenna.
I got sidetracked as my Samsung HM160HC took a uneventful dump. All of a sudden it just won't be recognized. Tried it in an external usb adapter with no joy. 6 months old. I am now looking for a Hitachi 7200rpm 100gb drive. Very good ratings.
