Why is it sometimes I can open my browser to this forum and it will not not be updated. When I get a email letting me know about a PM or such and if I click on the link in the email this forum just keeps going in circles![]()
This is with IE9. I have checked all my settings and can't see anythung out of place. Chrome works fine though??
Does this place not like IE9 or does IE9 not like this forum?????

Why would you use IE any #? Works fine with FF. As for the new PM, it appears in a pop-up window so it won't work if you have pop-ups blocked.

And I thought it was just me
When I get a email letting me know that a thread has a new post and I click on it , it should take me too it but does not...it takes me to another part in the thread like page 2 when it should of been page 6

when somebody has a 'maximum number of posts per page' set to let's say 20 and sends you(that have let's say 40 posts per page) a link to a page it'll either direct you to the first page of the thread either to a completly different place of that thread. -
Cap, Maybe I want to use IE. What does it matter to you why I use a certain browser? You are one crotchety, sometimes smart old man. Not all web pages work in Chrome, FF, etc. IE works for me everywhere, except for this place.

I am not a crotchety old man, I am a life long curmudgeon. No offense intended, suit yourself with IE. I have not found a site recently which would not work with FireFox with the exception of most Massachusetts state sites and a couple of federal government sites. The fact that I'm visiting those sites means by default that I'm having a bad day. I'll swap smart for wise any day.

Cap,
I am sorry for my choice of words. I'm the one having a bad morning/day. Nothing worse than coming back to my job after a National holiday
I have never been able to enjoy FF for some reason. I wish I did though, it is the built in browser on my IronKey's that I have to use with work. -
I had to install FF because IE9 won't allow me to use the Find Posts > New Posts menu. FF works ok, but I prefer less programs installed. I think there was a thread about IE9 problems but couldn't find it because I was using IE9.

No problem, no apology required. I have been using FF for a long time and to date have no reason to change, although if they keep up with the fast track new editions and the GUI change for the sake of change, I might start looking. I tend to use ABM (Anything but Microsoft) software whenever possible. IE9 may be the exception that proves the rule, I don't need it so I won't bother. In all fairness, I installed W7 on the MK3 CF-30 with the restore disk this weekend, and to date I love it. There is obviously going to be a steep learning curve, but when I figure something out it just works. I stuck in a SDHC card and imagine my surprise when I was asked if I wanted to use it for Ready Boost and back up and 3 or 4 clicks later I was running 4GB of boost and backing up my files every night between real backups. MS might have really got this right, sadly I hear W8 is just around the corner.

Personally I prefer Netscape Navigator 6.0... It seems to render pages the fastest with my Comcast High speed internet and displays the pages better than Firefox, Chrome, IE or the AOL browser

I re-installed W7 over the weekend as well. So far I have not had any problems with IE9 and this site????
Sometimes it would just go in circles, the HP pop up would pop up on every stinkin page, just wasn't working right only on this site. So far, so good!
