This might sound like a stupid question, but anyhow.
I read on several internet forums that the CF-27 is the most rugged of the toughbook line. Is that really, or is it just a bit... commercial talk ?
Anyhow, as i have a CF-27 and 3x a CF-28, i was just wondering.
Which one is more rugged ? Or are they both equal rugged/Tough/Robust ?

I believe the CF-28 is/was the pinnacle of what a ToughBook was always supposed to be about: Be prepared. It has/had the ultimate combination of ruggedness, available features and the fact of two Mini-PCI and THREE PCMCIA slots was simply incredible; it meant that no matter WHAT you wanted it to do, there was likely a combination of expansion cards to let you do it.
That said... most of what we would put in those slots has now become built-in on newer models; they can't take advantage of the features of any OS newer than WinXP, and they're getting so old it's becoming a hobby just to keep them running, like grandma's old Studebaker.
Will I give up my old CF-28? Probably, when my batteries die and I can't find a good working one for less than $50-75. I've been saying that to myself for over 2 years now.

I do beleived to mnementh, I handed several unit of cf-27, 28,29,30, cf-m34,cf-18 and cf-19 but the 28 is my favorite of them all. I've got the cf-28 with 512mb builtin and I will never never to let go. And second will be the cf-m34 with a 1.0ghz. They are more rugged and rubust in terms of how they built from the body to Lcd. The alloy case are more thicker than those other and the feature for protection are beyond to what it was intended.

27 aint all that rugged

Agree on the CF-28 being the most rugged and reliable

Yup... The CF-28 as far as reliability... I like the CF-29 for modability!
Is the CF-27 more rugged as the CF-28
