After I bought my CF-28 on ebay I received a solicitation for a SquareTrade Laptop Care Plan.
They are asking $34. for 1yr coverage of anything that fails on the laptop.
Anyone look into this and determine if it is legit?
I usually don't buy these things and in the case of a used computer assume that if something breaks
I fix it - but given the obscene prices for CF-28 replacement parts a bad keyboard would probably
pay for the warranty!
WDYT?

You should Google that question... And you will run FAST! SquareTrade has a great reputation for working out petty squabbles but their warranties (from what I've read) are not worth the money! Seriously... Google it...

I don't use Google, am not at all fond of their business/political model.
I did use http://clusty.com and found this:

Definitely not promising.
Thanks for the heads up!
BTW: My CF-28 was delivered today! LOVE IT!!! The dead CD in the re-usable caddy arrived today -
hope to follow your directions and make the swap today or tomorrow. Will have to look into dual-booting
Puppy Linux and then turn it over to the children. Now I need to figure out how to get one for me! -
the cf-28 is one of the toughest i have ever used the only problem i have had up too date is the hard drive dying and the keyboard,
so anwer to ur question is best of leave it unless you got money to spare then get it?????????
parts are always coming up on ebay and some times at a bargain price
Is the Square Trade Warranty Worthwhile?
